Who can drive the motorhome?

All named drivers must be between 25 and 75 years of age and have held a full UK or EU driving licence for at least two years prior to the commencement of the hire:

  • “Kev” – category C1 licence is required
  • “Bella” – can be driven by standard category B licence holder

The licence must be clear of any endorsements apart from up to six points, if there are any other current endorsements special conditions may apply. Due to our hire insurance policy there are driver occupation restrictions, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

How many people can travel?

“Kev” - our Swift Hi-Style 630L motorhome sleeps up to 6 people, there are 6 sets of seatbelts.
  • “Bella” – our Elddis Majestic 165 motorhome sleeps up to 4 people, there are 4 sets of seatbelts.

Is there a minimum hire period?

We offer a minimum of 3 night rental. You can hire the motorhome for shorter periods, however the charge will be equal to 3 nights.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer 5% discount for rentals of 8 days plus.

We are members of The Camping and Caravanning Club. Our customers can get special discounts on using the Club sites.

What happens on collection day?

Motorhome will be available for collection between 3pm and 5pm on collection date.  On arrival at our premises we will complete the necessary paperwork with you which will include hire agreement, our Terms and Conditions and hire insurance.  We will also take copies of driving licence for all drivers.  We will then give you a detailed handover of the vehicle, explaining how all the equipment works and answering any questions that you may have. We will also complete a Motorhome Inspection Checklist and record any existing damage. Please allow for up to 1 hour for the handover.

Will I be shown how it all works?

We will explain how everything works during the handover on the first day of your hire. User manual can be found in the vehicle.

Do I have to pay a security deposit?

A refundable security deposit of £1000 is paid using a debit/credit card in the name of the main driver no later than 5 days prior to collection of the motorhome. This pays towards the insurance excess, damages and other charges which may occur whilst on hire as set out in the Hire Terms & Conditions. In case of any damage the Hirer’s liability is not limited to the security deposit as per our Terms & Conditions. When the motorhome is returned in a satisfactory condition, the security deposit will be refunded within 7 days of returning the vehicle.

How can I pay?

As per our insurance requirements £1000 security deposit must be paid using a debit/credit card by telephone by calling our office.

Is the motorhome insured?

Yes, our motorhome comes with comprehensive motorhome hirer's insurance which covers you in case if an accident, fire and theft. Breakages are not covered by the insurance, other exclusions apply, copy of the insurance cover will be provided upon request. There is an excess of £500 per incident. You can insure the excess amount by personally taking out a Hire Excess Insurance policy, there are a number of suppliers who offer this cover.

Is breakdown cover included?

Yes, our motorhome hire includes an RAC breakdown cover including 24hr national roadside assistance, recovery and onward travel.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately we do not allow pets.

Is smoking in the motorhome permitted?

We do not allow smoking in the motorhome.

Is there a mileage charge?

No, unlimited mileage is included in your hire.

Is there a fuel charge?

We provide a full tank of fuel on collection and ask that you return it full. There is a charge if we need to refuel upon return.

Can I take the motorhome to a festival?

Sorry this is not allowed.

Can I drive abroad?

Sorry this is not allowed.

What do I need to take with me?

Our motorhome is fully equipped. To help you decide what you might need to take with you please look at our detailed itinerary.

Do you supply bedding?

Due to Covid-a19 pandemic we do not supply duvets, pillows or towels until further notice. We do supply mattress protectors and bed sheets for all three beds. You can find them freshly washed and ready to use located in bedding bags in the vehicle. Upon return of the motorhome we ask that you leave them in the bags to ease the handling.

Do you supply outdoor camping furniture?

Yes, at an extra charge we can supply a set of outdoor camping table and chairs/benches.

Do you allow wild camping?

Yes, please ensure where you park is both safe and legal.

Do you have electric hook up?

Our motorhome has electric hook up, leisure battery and solar panel that helps charging the leisure battery. There is 230v sockets available in the vehicle and a lead to plug in to campsite electrical point.

Can I leave my car with you?

Free on site parking for one vehicle at the owners risk is available for the duration of the hire period.

Do I need to clean the motorhome?

We ask that the motorhome is returned in the same condition as received on handover, fully cleaned inside, including the outside lockers, toilet cassette empty and clean, grey water tank empty. You don't have to worry about cleaning the outside of the vehicle.

What is the speed limit for motorhomes?

Speed limit for our motorhome is: Single Carriageways: 50mph, Dual Carriageways: 60mph, Motorways: 70mph.
What is your policy surrounding any further COVID-19 restrictions?
In the event of an enforced lockdown meaning that your motorhome hire is not possible, we will provide a full refund of all monies paid to date.

What do I need to do before returning the vehicle to you?

Before returning the motorhome to us, please make sure that:

  • The diesel tank is completely full.
  • All contents of the vehicle are present as per the inventory.
  • The toilet cassette is emptied and cleaned including the cassette housing.
  • The grey water tank is empty.
  • The motorhome is fully cleaned internally including the upholstery, kitchen appliances and equipment, all surfaces, cupboards, tables, floor, walls, doors, cab area, shower and toilet areas and all external lockers.
  • The motorhome is free from unpleasant odours.
  • All personal belongings are removed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made in writing to the Company by email or post. 
If notification of your cancellation is received more than four weeks before the start date of your hire you will be refunded in full less the booking deposit of £250. 
If notification of your cancellation is received less than 4 weeks before the start date of your hire no refund will be issued.

What happens if I return late?

If you know you would be running late, we ask that you let us know ASAP as there might be someone waiting to collect the motorhome. There is a late return charge of £75 per hour or part thereof. We recommend that you book an extra day hire if you feel that you might need extra time on your journey back.

How do I use the free membership of the Camping and Caravanning Club?

To add value to your motorhome experience we are members of The Camping and Caravanning Club Privilege Scheme, which entitles our customers to up to 30% off Club Sites and 15% off Camping in The Forest Sites. In your motorhome you will find a copy of the Camping and Caravanning Club Motorhome Hire Guide, which lists all participating sites helping you to choose the perfect location throughout your entire journey. You can also find details of their sites on the Club website

When you've selected the Club Site you'd like to stay on, all you have to do is show them the Motorhome Hire key fob, which you will find on the keys of your hire motorhome, on arrival to claim your discount.

To guarantee your pitch it’s best to book. To Book your campsite please call the service centre on 024 7647 5426 for Club Sites or 024 7647 3008 for Camping in the Forest sites and let the advisor know that you are booking under the Motorhome Hire Scheme. A minimal deposit will be taken and upon arrival at the Club Site, your due balance will be discounted accordingly on presentation of the Motorhome Hire key fob provided. Alternatively, you can make a non-member booking online and follow the same process.
